问 ｜ 漆器买回家，日常怎么保养？要避开什么？

答 ｜ 三条：避开长期暴晒与暖气直吹，漆面怕持续高温干燥；避开长时间浸泡，擦拭用微湿软布即可；避开硬物磕碰与尖锐擦拭。日常用软布轻拭，反而会让漆面越擦越润。

问 ｜ 漆器开裂、变形了还能修吗？

答 ｜ 多数情况可以修，但要看损伤位置与程度。细小裂纹、局部起翘通常可由漆艺师傅补漆、重推；若木胎本身已严重变形或分层，修复成本会明显上升，也可能只能做稳定处理。有修护需求，建议先给师傅看实物再定。

How can you tell genuine Pingyao polished lacquerware?

Look at three things. First, whether the process is complete—coating, drying and hand-polishing are all required for that warm, soft black sheen. Second, traces: handmade pieces vary subtly at edges and in pattern, while assembly-line goods are identical. Third, provenance: can the maker be named?

Why is polished lacquerware so much more expensive?

Cost sits mostly in time. A bowl or box passes through repeated coating and drying; drying depends on temperature and humidity and cannot be rushed, so a finished piece is often counted in months, and the final polish is worked out by hand, pass after pass. Longer processes mean fewer pieces, so much of the price is labor hours.

How should lacquerware be cared for at home, and what should be avoided?

Three rules: avoid prolonged direct sun and heater drafts, since the finish dislikes sustained dry heat; avoid long soaking, using a barely damp soft cloth instead; avoid knocks and abrasive wiping. A gentle rub with a soft cloth in daily use actually deepens the finish.

Can cracked or warped lacquerware be repaired?

Usually yes, depending on where and how badly. Fine cracks and small lifting can often be recoated and re-polished by a lacquer master; if the wooden body is badly warped or delaminating, costs rise sharply and stabilization may be the only option. Best to have the master examine the piece first.
